Analysis software for VU-AMS Core: CoreLab
Published 19 February 2025
The CoreLab application is required for extracting data from the device memory card, viewing data, signal cleaning, scoring, and exporting features for statistical analysis. It is available for Windows and Mac OSX. The VU-DAMS release version for VU-AMS 5fs will not work with the .7fs (raw) and .amsdatai (processed) files generate by VU-AMS Core. The program functions very similar, so while the new manual is being written you can refer to the manual for the 5fs version /support/tutorial-software/. For the iOS app to start/stop the device and see live data go to /vu-ams-core-app-ecosystem/
Download CoreLab (formerly VU-DAMS core)
Click the name of your operating system to download the latest version of CoreLab 7.0.x for
Note: If the Windows installer is blocked by Microsoft Defender SmartScreen you can still install it by right clicking the .exe file –> Properties –> check the Unblock box –> click on Apply. Then install by double-clicking again.
This is a temporal fix until the program has its reputation regained with Microsoft after the name change. The signing certificate is still correct.

macOS Intel architecture (approx. built before 2021)

Troubleshooting Windows
- Your virus scanner may detect a false positive for the programme and quarantine the executable. Check if you have new alerts from your Windows defender/virus scanner related to “PUA:Win32/Puwaders”. Click on the notification and “allow”. Then reinstall the VU-DAMS beta software
Troublehooting MacOS
If VU-DAMS does not start on MacOS, first try to start it on command line:
– open the Terminal.app
– go to your Applications directory by typing: cd /Applications
– run: open VU-DAMS.app
If this resolves your problem, unfortunately you will have to keep starting it like this for now. We are working on a fix for the double click start.
Otherwise the most like cause is the Java installer has not set the required environment variable JAVA_HOME.
To fix this:
First get the required value to put into this variable:
– open the Terminal.app
– run: /usr/libexec/java_home
– copy the output (eg. /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-21.jdk/Contents/Home)
– open the settings file ~/.zshrc in a text editor; for example: nano .zshrc
– add the following to the bottom of the file: export JAVA_HOME=”<the path you just copied>”
– restart the Terminal and try to start VU-DAMS again
